After some waiting time I have finally received email from Adobe and I could install Flash Builder 4. It feels so exciting to see what they have improved and to see how Eclipse behaves. I will start with installing WST so that I can develop Java code as well.
Now when I have everything done its time to start developing. And my first project will be a simple CRUD project in Flash Builder 4 using Java as back-end and Hibernate to communicate with MySQL. I hope that this will work the same way as in Flex Builder but I have my doubts.
So my first project is called "Test" . Not a good name but who cares. I wanted to see how this looks like and what packages I will get. And I can say that it is a little different but not much from Flex Builder.
My next post will be once I have time to post it and it will be with some screen shots from my CRUD project.

Presentation day for StudentRegistration
Today is the presentation day and we have presented only one part of our application.
We realized that 2 weeks is not enough time to be done with this time of project.
What we have done:
We build the Flex Project, then we used BlazeDS to connect flex part and java code.
When we had this part done so that we can only create simple java objects and show
them in flex then we moved one step further and connected java with database using Hibernate. And that worked but we had many issues with Hibernate since it works as it wants. So we wouldn't recommend Hibernate but if you have to then you have to.
Here is a small example of our application.

Student Registration Application
We have a new assignment. And that is to build a Student Registration Application.
My group has chosen to use JAVA as back-end and to connect Flex part and JAVA part using BlazeDS. This is second week and we are having some problems with JPA and Hibernate. The problem is that we can't make @OneToMany annotations to work and we are kind of stuck for the moment.
If there is anyone out there reading my blog and knows how to solve this or might have an idea of how JPA should be used in JAVA when you want to connect to Flex please send me an email or simple write a coment.
P.S. I know that solution is very simple.

New Assignment.
Finally we got the new assignment and it doesn't seem to be that big challenge. But I'm guessing that this is just introduction to some kind of JPA (Java Persistence API) thing but in Flex.
If not I'm going to be disappointed and start my own search for some good persistence code.
Since I like to do more then one thing I have also started working on my new Resume site, and this time I'm doing it right. This time its in Flex Builder and not DW. And I can already see that its a huge difference and I'll try not to use DW for any kind of Web development. Its much much easier in Flex Builder.

Done with Resume (CV) Website
I'm now finally done with my Resume website. But even if I'm done its not. We had to do this website without Flex Builder so I didn't gave it that much time to make it look nice. And now when I present it we will see what my instructors think. If they like it its good. If they don't then I have a reason to do it in Flex builder then. But in any case I'm doing it in Flex Builder anyway.
Now I'm going to bed my dear follower.

Back-end to be used together with Flex Builder.
We have seen that its possible to build awesome websites and applications using Flex Builder but to build something with some security assurance we need to have a good back-end. So I'm now exploring what tools we should use. For the moment the strongest candidates are Drupel and Joomla. We shall see who will be the winner.
If anyone has any good solutions please reply to me ASAP.

Flex Builder and AS3 - week2
Today we are starting with components and it doesn't seem to be so difficult. As always we are starting with some kind of "helloWorld" thing. But I hope to get some exercises so that we can practice a little bit.
I'm looking forward to learn more and more about AS3 and Flex Builder.

Getting exausted with ActionScript3
Today we had some scripting to do and some things ware very simple and others ware just to hard. But it might also be that I haven't sleep that well and if you combine that and looking in a monitor for seven hours.
Well you can imagine how it feels.
Now I'm going home. Take care all my followers.

Creating my Resume Website
I'm creating my Resume website and I have some small issues when it comes to deciding what kind of design I should chose. Once again, It is so hard to create something that describes who you are and this is one of those things. I have to search some more on google so that I can get some more inspiration.
